60 of the 80 participants from 29 nations had already gathered a few days before the World Cup final for a preparatory flight as part of the international Friendship Cup. This competition, which is also registered with the FAI, has a very strong field of participants with the top international pilots.
After eleven rounds, top Chinese pilot Yang Chen came out on top ahead of Matjaz Sluga from Slovenia and Sergej Husanoff from Lithuania.
Lennart and Linus came 4th and 6th, followed by Spain’s David Carreras in 5th place.
The World Cup final starts with the opening on 28 August. Even if the weather conditions are not as perfect as in the last few days, the organisers on the Wasserkuppe are expecting some exciting races.
